Carriage RV 2011 Models Equipped with MCD Shades

Carriage RV has a history, system and philosophy of building the best vehicles in the world and MCD is proud to have been chosen to be a part of the future of the Company.  The MCD American Duo™ Day/Night Shade System has been integrated into the deluxe, top-of-the-line Royals fifth wheels as standard equipment.  Carriage is also offering MCD Shades as an option in their popular Carri-Lite and Cameo fifth wheel models.

Carriage, Inc. calls their RV models “Resort Vehicles” because of the amenities they include in every model.  MCD Day/Night Shades will add to the unique features in the entire line-up of fifth wheels that Carriage produces.  MCD Clearview™ technology is utilized in the day shade to keep unwanted heat and UV rays from entering the living space, yet allowing the occupants to see out while no one can see in.  In the evening the 100% light blocking night shade, available in a variety of fabrics, provides for a better sleeping environment and total privacy.

History (from the Carriage RV website: www.carriageinc.com)

Carriage was founded in 1968 by 4 gentlemen:  Wilbur Witmer, Ray Stutzman, George Kurtz and C.T. (Clarence) Yoder.  By 1972 Yoder and Witmer had bought out their partners and assumed ownership of the Company.  For what will be 43 years in 2011, we have been located in Millersburg, Indiana on a 72-acre campus that contains nearly 25 buildings of various capacities, nearly all of which are still used in some fashion to build our Luxury fifth wheels.

Carriage's first products were two lines of travel trailers, named the Carriage and the Rolls International. Fifth wheels hadn't been invented yet, but even early on anything that had Carriage's name on it was considered well-built and reliable. Over the years we have also built conversion vans (for almost 20 years), Class C motorhomes (3 years), and even a few custom park models for Anheuser-Busch. We built our last travel trailer in the 2005 model year and have focused strictly on our 4 lines of high-end fifth wheels ever since.
