On The Lot with Ron and Nancy White

(The Whites)(Date: 2/24/11) Ron and Nancy White drove their 2008 Tiffin Allegro bus from Arlington, Texas (just “down the road”) to the MCD factory to have a new windshield day shade installed. Their Tiffin came equipped with MCD shades and the windshield had only the night shade as standard equipment. They decided to add the powered day shade to their coach’s windshield as well.

The Whites have been RVing for 25 years! They said they just realized that they have been RVing half of their married life since their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary was coming up in September of this year! “One of our most visited destinations is Las Vegas, Nevada. We travel to a lot of bowling tournaments as well as various Texas lakes. We both recently became certified barbeque judges and we plan to travel to barbeque contests in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Nevada.”

We asked Ron and Nancy about their experience here at MCD and they said, “Our visit to MCD has been very satisfying. Everyone we have had contact with is very knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful.”

We appreciate your business and know that the addition of the new day shade will help keep you cool in Texas or when traveling to those great barbeque events around the country!

On The Lot with John and Beverly Gettys

(The Gettys)(Date: 2/16/11) The weather finally broke mid-February and amid the thawing the Gettys’ arrived at MCD. They had driven through a lot of bad weather to get here and get their pleated shades replaced with MCD American Solo™ shades in the house portion of their 2009 Newmar Dutch Star. They also received windshield wiper covers.

When asked why they chose MCD shades, Beverly noted, “To upgrade from our previous day/night pleated shades that had a propensity to break the strings and were not completely blocking the outside light.”

John and Beverly have been RVing since 1980. “We started RVing because our daughter competed in rodeo sports. We pulled a horse trailer behind our motorhomes at first and competed in multiple states across the U.S. The RV provided us with available sleeping quarters and a place to eat no matter how remote the rodeo. Now we are retired and we continue to travel…a lot…with our two grandchildren (Hayden and Caroline) who are involved in horses themselves. The grandkids are now seeing the U.S. and nearly every state! They are getting quite an education.”

Finally, the Gettys commented on their shade install, “We were pleased beyond our expectations! We recommend these shades!”

We’re happy that you like your new American Solo™ shades and we know they will keep the light out of your coach, when needed, so you will be more comfortable on your journeys across this great country.

On The Lot with George Brother and Pam McMickin

(Brother and McMickin)(Date: 2/8/11) George Brother and Pam McMickin travel around the country in a 2003 Winnebago Adventurer and call Lakewood, New Mexico home. They brought their RV to MCD to have the entire coach outfitted with American Duo™ Day/Night Shades. George and Pam have been RVing for 22 years and they decided they wanted the “best shades available” for their motorhome. They had a bit of an extended stay here at the MCD factory because of the terrible ice and snow McKinney, Texas encountered over the past week. Everyone here “on the lot” helped each other get through the unusual elements Mother Nature threw our way.

“We are full time RVers who also work part time,” George and Pam told us. “We travel in our Winnebago and tow a Honda CRV so we can do some off road exploring without getting stuck. The Southwest is one of our favorite travel routes. We like the people, the food and the scenery. Last year we revisited the Painted Desert, Petrified Forest and Canyon de Chelly. We are hoping to return soon to Big Bend National Park…One of our favorites.”

“Going full time in our RV allowed us to travel extensively before we could really retire. We work part time for FEMA, supporting disaster response operations.”

George and Pam told us they were very happy with their MCD shade installation and we are happy you choose MCD. Enjoy your new shades and we look forward to seeing you both on the road…

On The Lot with Richard and Karen Hugo

(The Hugo's)(Date: 1/28/11) The Hugo’s Came to MCD to have their 2003 Alfa See Ya upgraded with American Duo™ Day/Night Shades. They are full timers and have been in the Alfa for just over 8 years. They have been RVer’s since 1976. “We are full timers since 2003. We wanted to see our country and we think this is the best way to do so. RV’s are great for visiting your family and friends across the country since you always have your own bed!”

“Our favorite trip has been to Alaska with several other coaches. We like meeting other RVer’s and just enjoy seeing the country.”

When the upgrade was done, we asked if they were satisfied with the product and Richard and Karen said, “We are very happy. You guys are so nice and friendly!”

Thank you for choosing MCD and let us know how you are doing as you fill in more states and provinces on your travels with your new shades.

On The Lot with George and Phyllis Rhode

(The Rhode's)(Date: 1/28/11) Late in January of 2011 a 1999 Safari Serengeti entered the MCD lot and George and Phyllis Rhode emerged. They have been RVing for the last 12 years and decided to upgrade their coach. They were introduced to MCD by purchasing a set of wheel covers to give their motorhome a sleeker outward appearance and liked that product. This time the Rhodes decided to outfit their Class A with MCD American Duo™ Day/Night Shades. They mentioned that they saw the shades in the MCD booth at a rally and really liked the functionality and the privacy they provide.

George and Phyllis call Fairfield, California their hometown but they have been around the globe. “We have done a lot of international traveling. Phyllis worked for a travel agency and we traveled to Africa on a safari, went to many places in Africa and Asia but decided to see more of our own country so we bought an RV.”

“One of our favorite places is Cape Cod, Massachusetts. We also loved our travels in Alaska and Mexico. George is retired Air Force and has flown all over the world so we are happy to be traveling in the U.S.A.”

As they were leaving the lot, the Rhode’s said they were very happy with their installation. “The staff and workers at MCD are outstanding!”

We hope you both have “Happy Trails” and know that your MCD shade purchase will make RVing life a bit more comfortable where ever you go.

The Hines’ met MCD Rep Peggy at the Winnebago WIT Rally in Forest City this summer and said, “Her easy way and listening skills for what we needed helped make our decision to go with MCD.”

“There’s a time and season for our lives thus far. Ned and I have had fun with sailboats, airplanes, built a car and now we are RVer’s. We’re just getting started on our travels and in the short 1½ years we have been in 13 states. Our next big adventure is Alaska in May 2011 and we will be there for 3-4 months.
