MCD Innovations Featured in Yet Another RV Magazine

(Made in the Shade Magazine Article)Press Release – 11/03/11McKinney, TX – MCD American Duo™ Day/Night Shades have been featured in yet another popular media venue.  This is the fifth media publication this year to feature MCD and their unique and popular shade systems.  The Fall 2011 issue of RV Magazine features a six-page spread, “Made in the Shade,” which provides a detailed description of the installation of American Duo™ Shades in an entire coach, including photos of each step.  The article highlights the insulating effectiveness of the proprietary solar screen material that MCD manufactures in the U.S.A.  “We think of it as transparent insulation because it holds hot or cold air back as well as radiant sunlight energy,” said the author, Mark Quasius.  He also noted, “They (MCD Solar Screens) are easy to see out of, control heat transfer, and reduce UV-ray penetration.  It is not uncommon to find a 10 to 40 degree difference between the temperatures on the sunny side of the screen and the inside of the screen.”(RV Magazine)

In addition to RV Magazine, MCD Shade Systems have been featured in Motorhome Magazine, Trailblazer Magazine, the Made in McKinney segment on regional cable TV stations, the McKinney Vision magazine, and will be featured in an upcoming Family Motor Coaching magazine feature article.  MCD Shade Systems have been the subject matter in numerous blogs written by satisfied customers.  MCD’s website links directly to a number of blogs written by satisfied customers including, but not limited to, Jane and John’s Place: No Pleated Blinds Allowed, Here’s Lucy: MCD Shades, and Motor Home Project: Replace Day Night Shades.

"Our MCD Shades Saved Us!"

(Jones)Press Release – 9/26/11McKinney, TX - “If it wasn’t for our MCD windshield shade being half way down, we would have been covered in glass. Our MCD shades saved us.” This from MCD customers Ralph and Gisela Jones as they pulled into the MCD factory in McKinney, TX last week.

As the Jones’ were traveling east across OK 70, a large rock flew into the upper portion of their windshield and broke through the glass. Sharp shards flew everywhere inside the coach, spraying the front dash and into the cockpit area of their 2008 Holiday Rambler Ambassador. Because they were using their full side-to-side MCD American Duo™ day shade as a sun visor, the glass hit the shade and did not fly into their faces. “We feel very fortunate that we had MCD shades because they saved us from having all of that glass pummel our heads and shoulders,” said Ralph.

(Windshield Crack-1)The Jones’ purchased MCD shades for their coach in 2008 and were coming back to the factory to have them converted to the company’s Generation IV system. “The shades were my 70th birthday present,” noted Gisela. “I got jewelry for my 50th and 60th birthdays. Then we started full timing in our RV and I wanted the cockpit shades.” The couple added the American Duo™ Shade System to the rest of their coach in 2009.

The Jones’ have been full time RVers since the fall of 2007 and love the lifestyle and their coach. “Holiday Rambler has a great reputation and my wife really liked this layout,” said Ralph. They have traveled in all but four U.S. states and their fondest memories are of their trip to Alaska. “We did everything there - glacier tours by boat and helicopter and deep sea fishing. We even visited Sarah Palin’s home town.” They have also enjoyed the Maritimes and many of the provinces in Canada.

I(Windshield Crack-2)n the winter months the couple enjoys working for Disney World. “We love working in the food court in the French Quarter. The people who come in are always nice and are having fun. It doesn’t get much better than that. But the best part of full time RVing is that we do not miss any birthdays or graduations of our grandchildren. We have seen them more now that ever before,” said Gisela.

“MCD has treated us great! We love our shades. They have been a great addition to our coach and to our lifestyle.” While the Jones’ were at MCD they were able to locate a local windshield repair facility to replace their windshield.
